Inspire ideas, renew your city or take your city to the next level.

The transition from 2000s economic business models to new economic models provides a unique opportunity for cities and communities. This could include clean-tech, green-tech, digital economy, knowledge workers, local manufacturing, craft based industries, events-economy, community groups or other initiatives.

Yet unlike business there is a scarcity of usable information and ideas around the cities of the future.

A forum event to inspire your local economy.

By working with the local community to organize a Local Innovation Forum™ event [LIFe], 2thinknow can bring the latest ideas to a city that suit the profile, culture and unique strengths of any city.

2thinknow select ideas from our large suite of case studies, concepts and research into thought leaders across many fields.

We draw upon our cities research and evidence-based examples. Event presenters engage the audience and focus on what works.

Events for each community

There are different versions and content frameworks for mega-cities, cities, towns and suburbs. Content is tailored based on the size of your community.

Limited commitment

Organizers commitment is relatively limited and can be dealt with in a straight forward professional manner.

Working with 2thinknow to organize an evening or half-day LIFe event is also easier and lower-cost than flying in speakers for new ideas at local events.

Who can organize?

Cities, local business, trade boards and state government can organize and sponsor a Local Innovation Forum event in their city, town or suburb. At current this includes urban areas in — much of Europe, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other locations by invitation and participation of the government.

Government at all levels, are welcome to work with us to consult on a range of Local Innovation Forum events – either in standalone or piggy-backing off a national initiative. Content can also be adapted, prior to the event, within some parameters.

If you’d like to learn more about organizing — contact us.

Key Features

Shipping as spreadsheet

Microsoft Excel format XP/2003/2007. The files should also be readable in 97/2000, if not you can request a special version, at no charge.

Segments & indicators

The breadth of indicators – covering arts, music, sports, medicine, industry among 31 segments.
Global city trends can be understood and planned for with insight from 2thinknow trend analysis models. > more

Understand how global and regional trends impact cities.

Global and regional trends can be responsible for the success of certain cities during specific favorable periods. City trends can also require managing to reduce their less favorable impacts on cities. Only 2thinknow offers trend analysis as a structured approach to planning the impact of trends for business, government and NGO clients.

Logical framework

A trend analysis framework to map, understand and measure progress of trends impacting cities.

New thinking

Rational Economics & other analysis doesn’t have a method to represent trends impact on city economics. On the other hand, trend watchers may identify forces as ‘cool’ or ‘hip’ – more approachable, yet subjective.

Measure trends

2thinknow have pioneered unique Trend Analysis methodologies to objectively quantify & measure trends; as potent comparative forces impacting cities.

Innovation programs

The Innovation Cities™ Index, classification of cities for innovation, is based in part on a current trend analysis

Visualise change

Trend analysis by 2thinknow can be visual and numerical. Data & intuition.

Current City Trends

Since 2009, the headline city trend force groupings are Economics, Equity & Environment. Without analysis the issues underneath these forces are dangerous forces threatening the economic and social wellbeing of cities.

Change Trend Opportunity

2thinknow see trends as economic & social opportunity for cities, when properly managed with local strengths, a challenge is an opportunity. An opportunity for business, city and government planning.

Analysis Reports & Consulting

2thinknow innovation consulting and analysis reports contain the Usable Insight for clients to take advantage of change trends.

Individual analysis reports and innovation consulting break forces down into specific trends driving the economic, demographic and social change in cities, and identify social and market opportunities and blockages.
