City government resources for innovation in world cities.
The 2thinknow Innovation Cities Program has a number of elements and resources which City Government can participate in, to communicate and improve your cities economic and social development through innovation.
Understand multi-sector innovation, with the report.
The Innovation Cities Analysis Report introduces the Innovation Cities Framework, a rational framework for measuring and improving city performance, whether in decision support, data gathering or at the strategic and tactical level. The report is affordable and best way to start to understand a balanced multi-sector approach to city development.
Measure your cities social and economic performance with benchmarking data.
You can measure your cities social and economic performance relative to other cities, with City Benchmarking Data. Whether as the basis for a city master plan, decision support or annual report upon city performance our independent city benchmarking enables you to comprehensively rate your cities performance across 31 industry and community segments, using 162 City Performance Indicators.
Make a submission regarding your city.
The research commenced in 2005 on building the largest city benchmarking data set. This has been independently built and maintained by 2thinknow. The goal is current, timely city information, and after experimentation with a number of models, this is independently gathered and assessed under the direction of 2thinknow by analysts and interns.
To assist us in cross-checking cities data, and recording the most current data, your city can complete a text-based Word questionnaire in the middle of each year, or as frequently as they desire. This easy questionnaire serves to update the ’soft indicators’ and updates both the city benchmarking data and the Index city rankings for the current year.
The absolute cut off for 2010 Index city rankings has been extended to July 30.
Show off success with City Award Certificates.
From July 2010, all years Index city rankings since 2007 now have free downloadable certificates suitable for framing for over 256 cities. (see also Award Categories)
Communicate to your local media regarding your city.
Why not release a media release or contact journalists about your cities innovation performance – either in the City Index rankings or the benchmarking data. 2thinknow can co-operate with local media coverage, via email interviews from print journalists.
Other ways.
Inspire your community, with a Local Innovation Forum event.
To work with successful cities to renew their cities, or simply take city performance to the next level, 2thinknow are holding sponsored Local Innovation Forum events in cities, towns and suburbs. Each event is designed to showcase the latest practical innovative concepts from business, the environment and internationally. Sponsor the event.
Organizing a Visit to Your City
Cities can also choose to provide information and organize a visit to their city, to give a speech, engage advisory services. Please note that the person visiting your city will not be the same intern-analysts scoring/benchmarking your city on indicators.
City Change Planning.
If you are seeking to change your city, you need to have a city change plan, that examines the data and plans the new outcomes for your city. 2thinknow can prepare city change plans for your city or suburb. Your City Change Plan can then be stand alone or become an appendix to your city master plan or cities annual report, or even be part of your city wiki.
Custom Advisory Services
2thinknow provide a limited number of advisory & consulting services to cities looking to rebuild their city. These are general advice and discussions at a strategic and tactical level, on which industry and community segments the city government could focus upon. Once again, the advice is not provided by the intern-analysts scoring/benchmarking the cities.
You can also order custom research regarding your city.
An open door – working together.
Independent agency, 2thinknow work in a professional manner with mayoral offices, development departments, trade or tourism offices, local government associations, elected officials and other public servants in city, local and municipal government worldwide.
