Cities & Innovation

Environmental, Equity and Economics – are what we term the 3 City Challenges right now. Cities that seek to successfully deal with these challenges need to innovate.

Status Quo.

Yet, despite being the key economic experience of citizens and containing half the world’s population, management of cities is sparsely researched in comparison with business.

Cities performance, at this time, is often only assessed in 1 of 2 limited paradigms:

EMOTIONAL: A speculative, emotional way – without regards to comparative data, with lot of claims & counter claims. Based often on opinion & assertion.

STATISTICAL: Or alternately a statistical manner, reliant perhaps on economic analysis or academic theory, without broadly considering human factors or global comparatives.

This limited paradigm limits the effectiveness of many cities worldwide, both economically & socially – just as the city-state is emerging again as a key entity in economics, climate change & indeed lifestyle.

City Collaboration.

Livability, Sustainability & Cities of Commerce are single-focus concepts – no one of these concepts provides an integrated approach to cities & stakeholder expectations.

What is needed instead is a simple way of achieving success in meeting city challenges, in a competitive world.

A single Program.

The Innovation Cities Program™ includes the means to analyse, measure and plan cities ability to innovate in response to challenges.
